Dogs are welcome in our hotel.
Dogs, as we all know, are man's best friends. However, out of consideration for our other guests, we must draw your attention to the following:
- Dogs are not allowed in the “Gourmet Restaurant in the Coat of Arms Hall” and the adjoining salons, as well as in the Green Salon, the Schinkel Hall, the hotel bar and the café-brasserie.
- Dogs must be kept on a leash throughout the entire hotel grounds and in the landscape park of Burg Schlitz .
- We make every effort to keep the hotel grounds and the areas directly adjacent to the castle hotel clean. We therefore kindly ask you to walk your dog only outside the hotel grounds, in the landscaped park. Hygiene bags and a suitable waste bin are provided.
- Please also be considerate of your roommates if you leave your four-legged friend alone and the general peace and quiet might be disturbed by barking.
- Our housekeeping staff will not clean your room or perform the turn-down service if your dog is alone in the room.
- Your four-legged friend surely knows that he has to pay for everything he (hopefully not) breaks or soils.

Hans Labes, later Hans Count von Schlitz, was born in Berlin and grew up as the son of a Prussian diplomat.
Through his father's baronial title and a brief diplomatic career of his own, he found his mentor in Johann Eustach von Schlitz-Görtz.
After switching to agriculture, he acquired the Karstorf estate; through adoption and marriage, he rose to the rank of Count von Schlitz.
Between 1806 and 1823, he commissioned Burg Schlitz and shaped the complex with foundations such as the Caroline Chapel.
Crises, changes of ownership, and repurposing followed – right up to the present day, when Burg Schlitz after being privately managed, became a foundation.
